Battersea House

The existing house was a two-storey mid-terraced Victorian house, which was arranged as a single family dwelling.

The brief was to maximise the size and usage of the house. The existing house was demolished behind the facade and it was replaced with a new-built which included the erection of a front, side and rear roof extensions in order to provide additional floor accommodation and erection of a single storey side extension and excavation underneath the property and the rear garden to create an enlarged basement including the formation of front and rear lightwell.

Big openings at the rear and a big rooflight on the side extension, were carefully positioned in order to provide good natural light and a better con-nection to the rear garden.
